In the latter part of the 1980s, there was an increasing demand for work
boats to be used by our local fishermen. It was essential that his boat be versatile in
all aspects. The Boat had to have an overall length of 25' yet, not as beamy as other
twenty-five footers. It had to be capable of using low horse power engines yet still, it
had to achieve high speeds in excess of 30 mph. A sharp forward entry was a must but a
shallow transom deadrise was essential. Last but not least, it had to carry traditional
but sporty lines to compliment these qualities.

The Pelican 25' did just that!!! October
1990, saw the first seatrial of the Pelican 25' and it was apparent that this
legendary line would be a success. Its long lean shape, allowed the 25' to plane easily
with outboard engines from 40 HP to 150 HP. It could carry large payloads effortlessly and
efficiently. It is the ideal fishing lobster vessel yet, it could be spruced up to
accommodate a family for a fun day at sea. It has all the qualities and conditions for
snorkeling and diving, sport fishing, water-skiing or being a small ferry boat for sight
seeing etc. Her long sleek lines and sweeping sheer line is eye catching and its
"love at first sight" for those who need a versatile, open water power boat.
